U.S. Manufacturing Lead-Time On
Non-Stock Interpower Products
Interpower offers a 1-week U.S. manufacturing lead-time on non-stock Interpower products. We accomplish this by being flexible. For example, if an urgent request comes in for 25 pieces, but manufacturing is in the middle of a 1,000-piece order, that order will be temporarily stopped. Then there will be a tool set-up change over and the 25-piece order will be processed. After it is completed, manufacturing will move right back to that larger order and finish it.
It’s about teamwork. “It goes back to the people doing their job the right way and doing what they’re supposed to do,” explained Mike Boyle, VP of Manufacturing and Logistics. It’s working together—purchasing makes sure the raw materials are in-stock so manufacturing can build the cords. Then shipping makes sure the products are shipped out on time.
“We try very hard to maintain a 1-week lead-time on special ordered parts. If it’s a part we have in stock, then we can ship it the same day,” he said.
Mike summed it up this way: “The 1-week lead-time is something we’re very passionate about.”
