Interpower® International Power Source
The Interpower® International Power Source provides a low-cost, convenient source of AC power for product design and product testing at various operating voltages and frequencies found around the world. The IPS will supply output voltages ranging from 10–276VAC at 47–450Hz. Sockets included on the front test panel are: Continental European, United Kingdom, 10A Australian, French/Belgian, 10A Swiss, 16A Italian, and a T-slot socket which will accept both the NEMA 5-20 plug and NEMA 5-15 plug.
Interpower’s IPS unit is portable, lightweight (26.5 lbs/12.3 kg), has an easy-to-read display, uses seven common global sockets, and can easily be connected to widely available wall outlets for input power. It is designed for technical and non-technical users.
Note: The IPS can test in single-phase only.
The IPS can be purchased or rented. There are two rental options available: renting monthly or rent-to-own. Contact Customer Service for more information.

- Bench and rack mount
IPS units for international use can be ordered with a country-specific input power plug.
Note: The four models mentioned above cannot be used in the UK due to the use of a C19 cord set. (The standard UK BS-1363 plug cannot be used on a cord set with a C19 connector.)
Interface Software
An optional, computer graphical user interface software package is available. AC power test routines and graphic AC power tests can be created along with fast testing at AC world voltages and frequencies. This software can extend the capabilities of the IPS by letting the user create easy, step-by-step programmable routines which can be saved, stored, recalled, and reused. The IPS can also be semi-automated.
For example: A product needs to be tested for 24 hours. The IPS can be programmed to perform a certain test for the first five hours, a different test the next five hours, etc. with the different tests totaling up to 24 hours. The testing order can be saved and repeated.
P/N: 85501010 – IPS Interface Software
Overview of the IPS Interface Software Features
- Control panel—used to manually control the IPS.
- Tool bar buttons and menus—options include menus for file, edit, test, and help, plus a view tab.
- Programmable routines—steps can be created, edited, and saved by changing a variety of variables including low or high range output, voltage, current limit, frequency, duration of the step, a continuous loop, or a set number of loops and comments can be added.
- Graphing and reports—provides for graphing of the IPS output for test reporting purposes.
- Maximum viewable graph history is 60 hours, but all data is stored in a GPH file and is viewable with a text editor or with Microsoft Excel.
- Data is saved routinely throughout operation.
- A variety of graph options are available.
- Able to control the IPS from a Windows-based* computer using the following features:
- Control of the IPS
- Programmable routines
- Guide to worldwide plugs, sockets, voltages, and frequencies
- Graphing IPS output and reports
- Trouble shooting
- Connected mode
- Simulated mode
*Operating system: Windows 7 and Windows 10
A license is needed to connect the software to the IPS (model numbers 85522211 and 85521711). It may be installed on more than one computer but can only be used with the IPS to which the license number is keyed. Multiple license numbers are available for users with multiple IPS units enabling one PC to interface with multiple IPS units.
